The Fourth State - Yoga Nidra & Restorative
In modern times, the speedy pace of life is becoming increasingly detrimental to our physical, mental, and spiritual health. The art and practice of deep relaxation is becoming imperative to healing from the common and not so common stressors of modern life.
Yoga Nidra and Restorative Yoga can play a vital key to the rejuvenation of the body & nervous system, the mind, and deep healing on all levels.

Yoga Nidra, or "The Fourth State", is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping. It’s a state where the body and sensory mind are completely relaxed and the yogi becomes systematically and increasingly aware of the inner conscious realm by following a specific set of verbal instructions.

On one level in this state, we can activate the parasympathetic nervous system and restore the bodies tissues and immune function... and on another level, we can access profound deep healing at an unconscious level. It is among the deepest possible states of relaxation while still maintaining full consciousness. In this training, we will practice and explore various techniques of Yoga Nidra from the ancient tradition of the Himalayan Masters as taught by Swami Rama.

Restorative Yoga Therapeutics
Restorative Yoga is a slower, supported, restful therapeutic approach to Yoga asana practice. It can be extremely helpful in treating injuries, physical & mental disease, nervous and endocrine system, and pretty much any aspect of your being when practiced with skill, knowledge, and without strain.

BKS Iyengar has been given a lot of credit for our modern practice of restorative yoga and yoga therapy using props and supports like blankets, straps, chairs, blocks, bolsters, and sandbags etc. When practicing slowly or even statically with support, our body, breath, and nervous system has more time to relax and soften into deeper healing. As in Yoga Nidra the parasympathetic nervous system is activated allowing the body’s own wisdom and immune system to heal itself.

Yoga Nidra & restorative practices are needed now more than ever for yourselves and your students. The value and popularity of Yoga Nidra is thriving in the industry and properly trained, knowledgeable & experienced teachers will be a high commodity.

In this 5 day intensive training you will learn the fundamental principles and practices of both Yoga Nidra and Restorative Yoga to practice on yourself, with private clients, and also in group classes. Brad will guide you through various yoga nidra practices as taught to him from the Himalayan masters tradition.
